A restaurant manager, a podiatrist, a sound engineer, and a music instructor – these are just four of the thirty-six new jobs that will be created at Radom’s social enterprises, thanks to nearly PLN 2.3 million in financial support from the Cooperation Fund Foundation, which runs the Masovian Social Economy Support Center! This is another important moment for the development of Radom’s social economy, and most importantly – not the last! “Creating new jobs in social entrepreneurship isn’t just about numbers; it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives. Every newly created position is an opportunity for those who have encountered difficulties in the labor market. We support those who have the courage to act and combine business with a social mission,” says Daniel Prędkopowicz, President of the Management Board of the Cooperation Fund Foundation. “We congratulate the entrepreneurs who have taken up this challenge and assure them that we will support them at every stage of their journey,” he adds.
More than just new jobs.
What is social entrepreneurship? It’s a unique form of economic activity whose goal isn’t solely to generate profits, but primarily to solve significant social problems. “From this perspective, the social economy is a great idea for creating new and developing existing social organizations—including associations and foundations—that can more effectively pursue their goals thanks to market mechanisms. And most importantly, it provides employment to residents who, for various reasons, find it harder to find their way in the labor market.” So everyone benefits from this,” emphasizes Justyna Jakubiak, mOWES Project Manager at the Cooperation Fund Foundation.
The first call for applications, implemented as part of the “Incubation and Support of the Social Economy in the Radom Subregion – IWES 5” project, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus under the European Funds for Mazovia 2021-2027 program, provided grants for the creation and maintenance of 36 jobs in Radom social enterprises, totaling PLN 2,293,182.00.
Supported entities in the Radom subregion include: the Integral Development Foundation, the Jaskółeczka Inn, the “Dobry Duszek” Foundation, the Guzowianka Foundation, the Catholic Heart for Hearts Association in Jasionno, the “Rodzina Razem” Association 2015, the “RAZEM” Association for Disabled People, the “Przyjaźni” Association for Disabled People, the “Clinic” Foundation, the “Happiness” Foundation, the “KI” Creative Innovation Foundation, and the “Wholesale” Foundation.
More new jobs? Coming soon!
But that’s not all the good news. We are currently finalizing agreements with social enterprises in the Radom subregion and are slowly preparing to launch the next recruitment process in the second quarter of 2025. We have also completed the first stage of recruitment for a twin project in the Ciechanów and Ostrołęka subregions, with 28 applications awaiting evaluation. We continue to invite you to collaborate with our facilitators. It’s also worth mentioning that, as mOWES, we offer a range of other support instruments for the development of social entrepreneurship in the region,” emphasizes Justyna Jakubiak.
